Completed RISE Youth Leader Training.
I volunteered for one week at Camp Rivendale, which is a summer program providing recreational opportunities for children, adolescents, and young adults experiencing disabilities.
Supported camp staff by proactively gathering supplies, cleaning up when the camp day was complete, and entertaining campers by role-modeling activities, including crafts, games, and art.
Provided emotional support for campers experiencing distress.
Responded to a situation where a camper attempted to run away from camp. I followed the guidelines pertaining to contact by interposing myself in the escape route, which delayed the camper until an instructor arrived.

Northwest Outdoor Science School
03.2025 - 03.2025
Received training from the head of the organization over the course of four days.
Student leader for a five-day outdoor school for sixth graders.
I headed a cabin of six boys during most of the day and all night. During the interim periods, I led a mixed group of different sixth graders through scientific activities, such as collecting data based on observation, and going on nature hikes.
I recognized a camper's panic attack and responded, following regulations both by taking another camper with me, and by delegating the remainder of my cabin to a nearby student leader. I then walked him down to the nurse's office, where I stayed with the camper at his request.
