• I worked as a preceptor through SimpliFi's CAP program in conjunction with the hospital and my travel agency. I was able to precept two new grads over 14 weeks each
• When not precepting I functioned as a nurse caring for 5-6 patients on day shift. Patient population varied but mainly consisted of post op patients as well as cellulitis and CHF. Drips managed on the unit was Heparin, PCA's, and morphine for patients on hospice.

Aurora St. Lukes Medical Center- Milwaukee, WI

• Trauma level 3
• Cared for 4-5 patients on PM shift and 6-8 patients on nights. Patient population consisted of chest pain, CHF, COPD, sepsis, GIB, and TIA/CVA. Drips managed on the unit consisted of Lasix, Bumex, Heparin, Cardizem, PCA's, and Insulin. Utilized Alaris IV pumps, HFNC, CPAP/BIPAP. Frequently took on the charge nurse role with a full patient assignment.

Ascension Franklin

• Total beds 60, unit beds 16
• Trauma level 4
• Cared for 4-6 patients on night shift. Patient population was CHF, NSTEMI, post cardiac cath, TIA/CVA, Sepsis, Pneumonia, and sepsis. Drips managed on the unit are Heparin, PCA's, and morphine for patients on hospice. Utilized plum pumps, GE bedside monitors, CPAP/BIPAP, HFNC.

• Staff nurse and charge nurse for a 34 bed Med/surg unit. The patient population mainly consisted of post-op patients who had a variety of different procedures.
• Answered patient calls, identified issues and determined how best to provide assistance within parameters established by facility and supervisor.
• Communicated directly with the Access Center to ensure admissions were appropriate and facilitated transfers in and out of the unit.
• Contacted the appropriate providers/specialties regarding changes in patient conditions.
• Provided direct nursing care to 4-5 patients on PM shift and 6-7 patients on NOC shift. while being in charge on NOC shift I would also care for 5-6 patients, create next shift assignments, was a resource for staff on the unit and addressed any situations on the unit (i.e. Rapid responses, behavioral emergencies, frustrated patients or family members)
• Trained multiple new staff and nurse externs on facility policies, procedures, and electronic medical record management systems. Supported new nurses as they grew their nursing practice, including assessment skills, time management, and safe medication administration.
• Jumped in to perform individual or team functions when short-staffed or advanced nursing situations required.

• Understand and meet the needs of the patient, multi-tasking, switch gears quickly when checking in, collecting payments, scheduling, rescheduling, coordinating multiple appointments and canceling appointments.
• Maintain daily and future provider resource schedules, including schedule maintenance requests (i.e. Opening, closing or changing a schedule) to ensure the provider is scheduled for the correct location and time.
• Validate, verify or add insurance, including third party insurance.
• Ensure that necessary questionnaires are completed for patient visits.
• Perform cashiering functions including the collection of co-payments and self-pay balance payments as well as balancing the cash drawer daily, voiding payments as needed.
