Summary

Began at Collinsville Nursing Home in 1983 at 15 yrs old in HK and Laundry, then at 16 yrs old I obtained my CNA Certification a d worked 2nd shift during my last 3 yrs of High School, I also worked as a social service designer, activities, and CNA.

IN 1989 I started at Baptist Medical Center, as was at that time, now, Gadsden Regional, as a pct/cna and took the Telemetry Certification class and exam and continued as a Tech and Monitor Tech. Applied for 1 of 2 scholarships given each year to an employee enrolled in nursing program, and proudly was awarded one. Worked there full time during Nursing School and upon graduation, was employed there in SICU. I have to honor my nurses who trained me, even while I was in school, Dr. George Robinson who taught me so much, during and as employed in SICU.

Then in 1995, I chose to ask to return to LTC/SNF, young children and shift issues, both places are my passion.

Dr. Lynn Luther was Medical Director when I returned, he taught me even more as far as Medical Management, and upon Dr. Donald Slappey's beginning, I've worked beside him for over 20 yrs.

I do have to say I've had the greatest, teachers, experience and mentors any Nurse could hope for.
