  • Plan fundraisers to gather basic necessities and money for over 1500 alternating families
  • Plan biannual events (brunches, Christmas and Easter dinners, gala nights) to raise money to supply individuals with their basic demands such as: medication, electricity, education, health care, food, water and shelter
  • Organize lunches for over a 100 men and women from the alternating families list to offer them food, clothes, prizes, and monetary support
  • Annual meeting at the women and men’s psychiatric ward “Deir El-Salib” for a full day of activities, food, and moral support

  • Edited and updated six project pages for the their website
  • Attended a ‘Re-unification Workshop for Libyan Institutions, ( Audit Bureau and the Administrative Control Authority of Libya). USIP and UNDP assembled 10 members from various branches from both institutions aligned to either the East or West based rival governments, to facilitate dialogues about a re-unification roadmap
  • Helped organize and attended a roundtable hosted by USIP in partnership with the U.S Department of State’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement on “Criminal justice mechanism in southwest Libya: The complex overlaps of states, informal and hybrid actors in Fezzan.”
  • Conducted surveys with over thirty online and offline participants (from UNSMIL, Congress library, Embassies) on how influential armed groups and tribes are in the Libyan criminal justice systems, on ways to reform the police, court apparatus and detention processes in Fezzan, and ‘orderly solutions’ for sustainable changes in the southern part of Libya
  • Analyzed and interpreted data on electoral violence in Alzawiya, Libya. Identified gaps and recommended from the collected data ways on how the researchers can re-evaluate the data to prevent electoral violence
  • Participated in planning sessions, with USIP’s local partners, for capacity building/training for staff of the Ministry of Interior on the prevention of electoral violence.

Westminster Foundation Of Foundation (Remote)

Internship was planned by the Lebanese Parliament and the Westminster Foundation of Democracy (WFD) through the American University of Beirut (remote)

  • Interacted and discussed with Lebanese ambassadors of Morocco, Italy, Malta and San Marino about diplomacy, the rules and regulations they rigorously follow and the benefits and drawbacks of women within the field
  • Attended seminars with regional WFD directors from Middle-East and North Africa, Sub-Sahara and United Kingdom, who discussed the differences between Westminster and Lebanese parliamentary traditions, the Great British political parties and participation and inclusion of women in politics
  • Drafted a written document about the importance of women within the political sector, the added value she offers within parliaments, committees and government structures, and the ways in which she improves personal health, public health, social infrastructure and constituents’ needs
  • Debated on-going Lebanese issues, such as Oil&Gas and Maritime disputes

Notable Projects

Social Media Advocacy Campaign: Giving Birth To A Stateless Citizen 

  • Giving Birth To A Stateless Citizen is an advocacy campaign that raises awareness on gendered citizenship laws in Lebanon
  • Awarded with most reflective of the USF mission and for drafting a thesis of distinction
  • Highlighted the adverse effect that gendered citizenship laws have on citizen’s human rights
  • Used social media platforms, a website, radio and television broadcasts, and billboards to disseminate my mission and vision to the Lebanese population and human right organizations
  • Developed a knowledgeable community regarding the effects of gendered citizenship laws
  • Trained youth to be tech-savvy and malleable with technology for activism (a technophile)
  • End goal is to reform Decree 15 Lebanese Nationality law and establish equality between both men and women


Civic Engagement-AUB-Democracy, Civic Engagement and Leadership    

  • Project: “Raise awareness for the inclusion of students with intellectual disabilities into educational institutions.”
  • Applying our trending hashtag #WeInclude and in collaboration with Next Step AUB, my team and I’s intervention enabled the American University of Beirut (within its walls) to develop and expand a tailored program for students with challenges.


Human Rights Alleviation-AUB-Human Rights and International Politics   

  • After being exposed to, and assisted an abused domestic worker in the roads of Beirut my team and I took it upon ourselves to alleviate human rights violations as much as possible.
  • Alongside an Amel Association activist, we supported four abused domestic workers throughout their repatriation.
  • Recommended six sustainable suggestions to enhance the respect of Human Rights in general in the Arab World.
