  • Run a crew of 10 people
  • Drive a diesel truck with a dump trailer
  • Communication with customers is required every day from the start of the job letting them know the job is about to start and what's going on as the job goes and helping with whatever is needed to fulfill clients needs
  • Very important to not damage customers property or belongings, covering windows, plants, garage doors, using tarps to cover everything
  • Keeping the area clean on the roof and the surroundings on the ground especially the entrance
  • The homes entrance is very important to keep clean so client can get in out of their home's, trash will be falling from the roof all day long especially in the morning when the old roof is being torn off, nails will fall all over the place so its important to have a magnet sweeper to get all the nails picked up and thrown away
  • Supervising the job the entire day making sure everything is flowing the way it should, if their is any roof damage such as leaks, decking, shortage on material, or tools needed i quickly provide with whatever is required
  • Towards the end of the day make sure everything is clean and done the way it should, ask the client if they are completely satisfied if not to correct whatever their concern or doubt could be

Labor

Watkins construction
01.2022 - 05.2024
  • Every morning required to sign in on a sheet of paper to ensure your pay and that you are present, a safety meeting is an everyday day thing before beginning to work
  • Sandblasting and coating welds on the pipelines was my responsibility everyday
  • Drove a company truck with a trailer which had a sandblaster machine and boxes with buckets of protective paint that goes over the sandblasted weld
  • On the pipeline jobs pipes are being jointed together and welded, after the weld is where i come in and with my crew we sandblast the welds with a foot length on each side of the weld and cover the welds with this protective paint ensuring the weld is completely covered with a nice thick layer
  • One person must sandblast and move on to each weld, a driver is needed to move the sandblaster machine to the next weld to keep a constant flow without interruptions
  • Heating the welds at the right temperature is required before adding any coating so that the coating can quickly dry and seal
  • 2 crew members will follow behind the sandblaster to heat at the right temperature carrying a propane, a torch, and a lazer thermometer to ensure the right temperature
  • Behind these two would be at least 4 crew members that would coat the welds with fusion bonded epoxy which is a paint like material where you mix with polyethylene to create a paint substance that you use to cover welds for extra protection from high temperatures, chemicals and corrosion, these pipes go under ground so its important to ensure everything is done just right as a inspector will be checking your work either approving or disapproving your work
  • At the end of the day paper work was turned in with hours and safety sheet which needed to be signed by crew members before beginning to work
