  • Safely climb telephone poles using Gaffs and climbing belt/ aerial bucket trucks aloft and heights up to but not limited to 35FT+
  • Operate trucks and power equipment in overhead and underground cable line construction.
  • Work with heavy duty power equipment and hand tools in the construction and repair of the outside plant cable facilities, conduit system and utility pole lines.
  • Place varying lengths of strand in accordance to local OP78 and GEO95 regulations and NEC code.
  • Load tools, equipment , and materials daily for the job into assigned company vehicles.
  • Perform various types of construction operations on telephone poles such as inspecting testing and replacing worn utility poles using a digger Derrick truck
  • Frame new poles on the ground before setting with cross arms and other line hardware
  • Place down guys, and insulators of varying sizes depending on cable length and size
  • Hang strand of varying lengths to prepare for new distribution communication lines
  • Rig and run hand lines for other aerial lineman for safely raising and lowering equipment and components up and down poles
  • Set poles, dig trenches for ground rods , drive guy anchors , break concrete / asphalt , chainsaw pole into pieces, hand haul onto truck , set down guys and guard arms , run copper from ground to lines and set up risers to conceal exposed lines.
