Position where I work In Degennero Labs in various research projects more specifically in microinjection, where I injected DNA plasmids into fertile mosquito eggs to create mutants to be used in lab
I also committed to other responsibilities in lab like blood feeding and mosquito rearing
Learned the full path of micro-injection which showed me various skills such as pulling and beveling micro-needles, arranging mosquito eggs, using a micro-injector, and rearing the mutant eggs which takes a lot of patience and fast thinking since many steps can go wrong
Doing research was necessary in lab meetings, giving me valuable skills in reading, dissecting and presenting the research of others
Had to use various math skills in order to complete various quick calculations within the lab setting
Collaboration between lab mates was key in the success of projects, giving me a good concept of teamwork and leading a group to a defined, attainable goal.
