Organic Geochemistry
I am currently studying on my theoretical engineering knowledge and trying to gain a practical flow. I have an intense curiosity about geoscience. Therefore, gaining hybrid thinking abilities in geoscience and engineering and applying both simultaneously is one of my ultimate aims.
University Safety Office offers a broad array of regulatory guidance and sound practical assistance concerning the safe use of hazardous chemicals in laboratory and non laboratory settings. This program encompasses the Chemical Hygiene Program for laboratories, the Hazard Communication program for non laboratory use of chemicals, chemical storage compatibility guidelines, chemical inventories, laboratory hood and emergency shower testing, inspections of chemical use areas, and fire extinguisher training. My responsibilities are to follow safety regulations and conduct regular chemical inventories, inspect lab equipment such as safety showers or fume hoods, etc... I am also responsible for the data processing and recording on university's own program. Meanwhile, I got to understand working with hazardous chemicals and understand treatment procedures in case of an emergency. I believe this has helped me to comprehend the seriousness level of working with H2S and CO2 formation gasses during an oil field upstream operation. One of the things that I enjoy the most is assembling the subcategories and disciplines of the oil industry with my experiences that I gain. It's like putting together the parts of a jigsaw. I feel like that is what lifelong learning is partly about.
