I am an ambitious STEM scholar with a strong passion for a future career in computer science and engineering, with aspirations of working for NASA. Throughout high school, I’ve participated in nationally competitive programs to gain the best education and experience in my field before college. Increasing representation of my race in STEM is important to me, and I am committed to collaborating with like-minded individuals and developing innovative solutions to make a positive impact on the world.
Simulated rocket impacts with catapults, applying engineering principles to assess environmental and safety risks. Utilized the HPAC model, an advanced tool by the Defense Threat Agency, for analysis on CBRNE (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, Explosive) scenarios. Collaborated with experts to design experiments, leveraging data analysis to refine project outcomes.
Math & STEM Tutor 5 hours (2024): Math and STEM tutor at the Tacoma Rescue Mission, guiding students in mastering complex concepts and building confidence in STEM subjects.
Eagle Scout Project - 135 hours (2021): For my Eagle Scout Project, I took on a leadership role to make a positive community impact by building a Little Free Library on the grounds of the Living Access Support Alliance (LASA). Additionally, I fundraised and collected over 200 books to stock the library and support LASA’s mission.
Summer League Basketball - 600 hours (2021-2023): Assisted in organizing and hosting basketball tournaments 5-6 days a week during the summer. Managed the play clock, maintained score sheets, set up games, and collaborated closely with referees to ensure smooth operations.
Live Community Music Event Performer - 234 hours (2021-Current): Driven by a strong passion for music, performed as saxophonist and clarinetist at jazz community events, parades, festivals, competitions, and over 20 sporting events.
Tacoma Urban League Empowerment Awards - 6 hours (2023): Through the Black Excellence Leadership Academy (BELA), I volunteered with the Tacoma Urban League Awards, assisting with event setup, guest check-ins, and distributing table and bidding numbers for activities held throughout the evening.
