As a department lead I am in charge of overseeing the daily production process. I make decisions on where to place employees to make sure all positions are covered for the smooth movement of production. I keep track of inventory and work with purchasing to ensure all needed materials are available. I also check that all equipment is in working order and work with our maintenance department to care for any issues that may arise. I’m also charged with making sure all safety precautions are followed. I regularly train new employees in all aspects of production. Another part of my tasks is to work with my direct supervisor in evaluating performance of my coworkers as well as detailing daily production reports.
