I hold the department's first Full Time Engineer/Firefighter Position. My Responsibilities are to work a Daytime Schedule Monday Thru Friday from 09:00-17:00. I also train new employee's that are hired to become certified to work at a solo firefighter at the department. I am also responsible to ensure that the fire departments apparatus, equipment, and facilities are maintained at the appropriate readiness levels to respond to a variety of life saving emergency calls. I am also responsible for performing difficult and lifesaving work at emergency scenes including fire suppression, rescue, and emergency medical care and general preparatory work at the station, also checking equipment for proper operation and general conditions, performing and assisting with routine maintenance of apparatus and equipment, and all other duties as specified by the Fire Chief.
Responsible for taking emergency and non emergency calls for service and to dispatch appropriate agencies to such calls for service such as Fire Departments, EMS Agencies, Rescue Agencies, Law Enforcement Agencies, and Utility Companies. Dispatch calls for 5 Paramedic Level Ambulances, 1 Municipal Fire Stations, 12 County Volunteer Fire Stations, 3 Law Enforcement Agencies, and multiple Utility Companies. Performed Pre Arrival Instructions Via EMD, EFD, and EPD Certification on Emergency Calls for Service. Supervised a night shift of 8 Telecommunicators, as well as trained employees.
