Update controlled documents as needed, safety walk-throughs on work centers to identify potential hazards, and encourage employee feedback on ergonomic concerns reporting those concerns to the safety department for evaluation. Time and attendance using Ceridian, annual reviews for the group leaders, and having final approval on annual reviews for their direct reports. Works closely with human resources, process leaders, and area leaders to identify potential candidates for open positions in the department as well as disciplinary steps when warranted.
Led a team of 45 employees in the edgeband process that produced 68 percent of the total annual production. Assigned daily tasks to the operators, building a team culture, focusing on improvements by implementing SMED's, 5s, and TPM, while encouraging operators to submit CIO ( Continuous improvement ) ideas. Worked closely with process and area leaders to improve the work flow through VSM events and focused on meeting, and often times, exceeding actual vs standard production goals while coming in well under the scrap percent goal. Annual reviews for all employees and trained team leaders to be proficient using SAP. Worked with team leaders to develop their soft skills and was assigned the duty of onboarding/orientation for new employees company-wide on a bi-weekly basis.
Coordinate the daily tasks, evaluate, complete time and attendance, and help develop a positive and safe environment for 24 employees working on two pack lines and two edge banders while monitoring the production flow to ensure components were available to pack and meet shipping due dates. Led the development of the new zlinks in the Bookcase Dept using Microsoft Excel. Involved with testing, training, and document creating with the SAP Team for the company wide rollout in 2012. Created the Directed Picking/Directed Placing transition for the Bookcase Warehouse using SAP.
Worked closely with area leaders, schedulers, group leaders, and operators from all areas to determine which machines would need to run during 2nd shift and ensure the product was completed by the due dates.
