Summaryofaccomplishments

  • NCED New Supervisor Program, As SDO (Supervisor Distribution Operations), A/MDO (Acting Manager Distribution Operations), detail as Supervisor of Maintenance Operations and Supervisor of Customer Service I have knowledge of the functionality between mail processing network and delivery operations to ensure that all mail is processed in an efficient manner to meet all goals when it comes to delivery standards. I am able to use multiple computer software such as Excel, Word and Power Point. As SCS we use Excel on a daily basis for multiple reports when it comes to any stationary time that the carriers may have, power points are used for training purposes and I use Word document to write letters for the carriers as well as customers addressing the reasons why mail is not being delivered i.e. dogs, unsafe porches, even bee hives. I have worked in multiple areas of the postal service and communication between individuals inside and outside of are network is a necessity. I speak with customers almost on a daily basis. I have worked several areas in different facilities, so I have knowledge of postal operations and mail flow, I use to work on DBCS machines as a clerk, as well as APBS, SPBS, APPS, FSS and AFSM 100. I supervised SIPS, FSS, LCUS, HSTS, letter carriers, Maintenance mechanics and custodians. As a supervisor of letter carriers, you have to be able to track, analyze data and evaluate performance to dictate how much time is necessary to possibly give overtime or give them extra mail to carry if their route is light that day. I have successfully communicated with people in all levels of the postal service as well as business customers and our residential customers. I have written letters to customers and businesses about any obstacles to delivering their mail or to send a simple thank you for their business.
  • I currently oversee LCUS, HASP, Power Equipment and HSTS., To properly staff each of these operations and with trays make sure to process the right color mail as it regards to trays. Making sure the operations I oversee meet dispatch times., Placing employees in the most efficient positions to get the mail processed., The correct mail is processed, operations are started and completed according to RPG and all dispatch times are met., A couple of our level 5 power operators called off work, I needed to use the upgrade list as well as the seniority list to place a level 4 employee into a higher level position for coverage on power equipment, Utilizing the upgrade list of qualified employees that signed up to get a higher level assignment I checked it based on seniority, I was able to get employees for coverage on power without violating any national or local agreements, HSTS had a high volume of rejects, Try to find out why the tray sorter was rejecting so much mail, Checked each lane as well as the slide labels in the trays, Noticed there was a piece of tape covering one of the readers, removed it and was able to run normally, Organize and express thoughts in a clear and concise manner, Ensuring that all employees are aware of daily/weekly updates going on within USPS as well as our own building, Doing a daily presort with all employees keeping them abreast of anything happening with USPS as well as our facility. Also letting them know of any changes in production processes as well as daily volume projections., Well informed employees are aware of expectations hopefully the mail flows well and less issues happen, Conduct PDI,s, complete observations and 3971's, Complete any observations on a quarterly basis and address any deficiencies that may be present during the observation and ways to improve. I also accept 3971's and turn them in to my MDO for approval or denial. PDI's have been conducted on employees in circumstances that required one to be conducted., I have maintained goals that were set forth by my MDO as I am still learning and improving., Check emails for call offs or any messages from my MDO, access the computer for Hero training and to check Webeor and surface visibility, Go online to check HERO for any training, check daily emails for any updates or call offs, Staying informed and educated as a supervisor, as well as informed as to what employees that are not coming in., To check surface visibility, WebEOR and any reports, Looking at these reports to check departing trips or arriving trips, scans, end of run reports and mail processing efficiency., Be able to decipher these reports shows what are deficits are and where we are making improvements, Employee was visibly upset and had a hard time expressing himself, To not escalate the situation, I actively listened to what the employee had to say I didn't raise my voice or get upset at all. I let him express himself., The employee was very angry and apologized later and thanked me for listening, HASP employees were not wearing vest on the dock which is a high traffic area, To keep all employees safe in every situation, Transportation management addressed the situation trying alleviate any potential safety situations on the dock, All employees on the dock are now wearing safety vest and no accidents or near misses have been reported recently
