Program: Heavy Duty Diesel Technology
Course Descriptions: Heavy Duty Diesel Engine Management Systems, Refrigeration. Heavy Duty Diesel Engine Tear Down and Tune Up. While attending school the most common heavy duty engines used were CAT, Cummins, Detroit, John Deere and Volvo. During this course I also leaned how to do Overhead Valve Adjustments along with Jake Brake adjustments and operation. Electrical and Mechanical Troubleshooting. After getting my Refrigeration 609 Certification we also leaned how to repair and troubleshoot Trailer Refrigeration Units.
Program: Motorsports and Chassis Fabrication.
Course Description: During the First "Phase" of this course we were introduced into MIG and TIG welding, Plasma and Oxyacetylene, cutting and shaping, grinding, and finishing, and basic metalworking. We also learned how to use a Lathe and Mill doing Machining work. With a partner we were required to measure and build a roll cage that was then welding into a Dodge Daytona. During the second Phase on the course we fabricated shop fixtures such as Tubing Bender and Tubing Notcher. We also build and modified engine mounts and crossmembers for custom engine swaps.
