Work History

Education

Wyotech-Laramie
08.2011 - 10.2012

Program: Auto/Diesel Vehicle Technology

Course Descriptions: Chassis, Engine Management Systems, Driveability Diagnostics, Drivetrain Systems, Engines.

  • During the Engine Management Program training was in depth electrical diagnostics on modern vehicles which require strict emissions standards. This gave me a understanding of electricity, circuits and electrical testing equipment, Navigation of service information systems, Understand how to use wire diagrams to test electrical systems, Gasoline and Light duty Diesel engine theory and components, Starting and charging systems theory and diagnosis, Component identification and location of components, Starting aids operation and diagnosis.
  • Drivability Diagnostics Program was crucial to becoming a successful technician on how to understand, Using diagnostic tools, Examining fuel and ignition systems, Performing detailed sensor diagnostics, Light-duty diesel low- and high-pressure fuel system theory and diagnosis, Common rail injection theory and operation, Injector theory operation and diagnosis, Diesel emission component operation and diagnosis, Forced air induction (fixed and variable turbochargers).
  • Drivetrain Systems Program was exciting to learn as you tear down and rebuild essential components of the modern automobile. This course included Transaxle replacement/removal, Electronic transmission diagnostics, Using precision measuring instruments, Four-wheel drive and all-wheel drive Theory and Operation, Manual clutches, transmissions, and transaxles, Transmission hydraulics and clutches.
  • Chassis Program is also essential to maintain a smooth and worry free vehicle. During this program we learned HVAC repair and maintenance, Tire and wheel mounting and balancing, Preform complete brake replacement, Suspension and Steering system types and repair, Understand and perform alignments.

Program: Heavy Duty Diesel Technology

Course Descriptions: Heavy Duty Diesel Engine Management Systems, Refrigeration. Heavy Duty Diesel Engine Tear Down and Tune Up. While attending school the most common heavy duty engines used were CAT, Cummins, Detroit, John Deere and Volvo. During this course I also leaned how to do Overhead Valve Adjustments along with Jake Brake adjustments and operation. Electrical and Mechanical Troubleshooting. After getting my Refrigeration 609 Certification we also leaned how to repair and troubleshoot Trailer Refrigeration Units.

Program: Motorsports and Chassis Fabrication.

Course Description: During the First "Phase" of this course we were introduced into MIG and TIG welding, Plasma and Oxyacetylene, cutting and shaping, grinding, and finishing, and basic metalworking. We also learned how to use a Lathe and Mill doing Machining work. With a partner we were required to measure and build a roll cage that was then welding into a Dodge Daytona. During the second Phase on the course we fabricated shop fixtures such as Tubing Bender and Tubing Notcher. We also build and modified engine mounts and crossmembers for custom engine swaps.
