I started my position as Recreation Coordinator on 1/7/2018. Since then, I have been responsible and achieved the following:

• Coordinated staff to supervise events and facilitate scheduled activities.
• Coordinated all active recreation at various County sports complexes, including communicating with park patrons, leagues, concession vendors, and contractors in terms of scheduling and maintenance at all parks.
• Worked closely with the leagues that utilize North Lake Regional Park, East Lake Sports & Community Complex, Minneola Athletic Complex, and PEAR Park for years, for a number of different sports, including baseball/softball, soccer, football, tennis, pickleball, volleyball, etc.
• Created and established maintenance contracts that cover all active parks to ensure that all sports turf, ballfield clay, common areas, and buildings are up to the standards expected by the residents who utilize our parks.
• Interviewed, trained and supervised full-time personnel and contractors to perform job functions at North Lake Regional Park, East Lake Sports & Community Complex, Minneola Athletic Complex, and PEAR Park.
• Conducted training seminars, staff meetings, league meetings and community meetings to promote organization and educational opportunities. Assisted with scheduling leagues and tournaments and enforced rules and regulations at all athletic complexes.
• Developed a training manual for the active parks to assist with the training of new staff and also created a template that other sections can apply for their staff.
• Monitored inventory to make sure all necessary supplies and materials were available for recreational activities.
• I have worked as a liaison for Lake County's Safety Training team to ensure staff are staying as safe as possible while performing job duties.
• Assist with emergency support functions with the Office of Emergency Management and participate in ongoing training/certifications required.
• Prepare, solicit, and evaluate competitive quotes for labor and materials for projects. Perform routine administrative work as necessary, including entering and retrieving computer data, copying and filing documents, attending/conducting meetings.
• Attended and assisted with public meetings, sports league organization meetings, special events, groundbreakings, and grand openings.
• Since December of 2019, I have been working closely with our Engineer II, Melving Isaac, overseeing and helping manage all phases of multiple capital improvement projects completed in our parks system. This includes working with consultants on design, conducting plan review and approval with the Office of Planning and Zoning, permitting with the Office of Building Services, creating bid packages, and overseeing the projects to ensure compliance through completion.
• Review drawings and assessed construction against plans.
• Provided information about methods and materials to correct problems and bring construction in compliance with ordinances and codes.

• Supervised staff (7 Employees) at all active parks, including, selecting or recommending selection, training, assigning and evaluating work, disciplining, and recommending termination.
• Assisted in the development of the annual facilities maintenance budget, and prepare related reports.
• Evaluated maintenance and repair needs for County facilities, initiated routine maintenance projects and recommended, when necessary, the implementation of major multi-million dollar projects to correct deficiencies and/or improve facilities.
• Helped schedule maintenance projects and ensure the availability of and efficient use of personnel, equipment, materials, and time.
• Created material lists and cost estimates for projects and prepared, solicited, and evaluated competitive quotes for labor and materials.
• Supervised the selection and proper safe usage of tools and equipment for maintenance tasks, and also provide training in equipment as necessary.

• Planned, Coordinated and supervised facility maintenance and repair operations and building alterations.
• Responsible for supervising staff, evaluating maintenance needs, coordinating operations with County staff and outside contractors as necessary, ensuring the provision of professional customer service by maintenance personnel, and performing related administrative and technical tasks as assigned.
• Assisted the Recreation Coordinator (Active), in management and operations of the County's busiest sports complexes (North Lake Community Park, East Lake Community Park, and Minneola Athletic Complex), and supervised the two daily shifts of staff and maintenance contractors needed to successfully support sports venues and maintain game ready fields.
• Assisted Active Recreation Coordinator in developing maintenance contracts for North Lake Community Park, East Lake Community Park, and Minneola Athletic Complex.
• In the absence of the Active Recreation Coordinator I was in charge of field operations and reporting to administration as needed.
• Attended and assisted with public meetings, sports league organization meetings, special events, groundbreakings, and grand openings.
• Provided input and computer generated data and product research and analysis.

• Read and interpreted codes and regulations, construction plans, and design standards for contractors, developers, engineers, and others as required.
• Scheduled and conducted engineering inspections to verify that projects are being constructed in accordance with construction plans, specifications design standards and pre-bid meeting requirements, and are meeting minimum safety requirements.
• Monitored the work of contractors and employees, documented all materials, equipment and manpower used and the progress of contractors and sub-contractors.
• Attended pre-bid/pre-construction meetings as necessary.
• Inspected all new projects, as well as commercial construction within Lake County Parks and Trails.
• Performed routine playground inspections on all county playgrounds and equipment. Completed training, passed exam, and as of 5/1/2013, became a Certified Playground Inspector.
• Helped coordinate and supervise facility maintenance and repair operations and projects.
• Worked closely with maintenance contractors at our sports complexes, ensuring County athletic fields are always ready for sporting events, big or small, and that everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience.

• Supervised five staff members ranging from Park Attendants to Park Rangers and also aided/assisted other Crew Leaders within the division.
• Trained employees in time management and proper ways to complete job duties.
• Monitored team members to verify work quality and address concerns.
• Communicated effectively with upper management, team members, and customers to keep everyone informed.
• Discussed daily work requirements with crew and assigned skills-based tasks to enable completion of work.
• Was primarily responsible for managing our Public Lands including Ellis Acres Reserve, Lake May Reserve, Mt. Plymouth Lakes Reserve, Neighborhood Lakes Reserve, Pasture Reserve, and Ferndale Preserve, by following management/restoration plans specifically designed to return the ecosystems back to their native state.
• Was directly responsible for controlling and removing invasive plants/animals on these properties, and re-planting native vegetation as needed, and also oversaw all herbiciding projects conducted.
• Worked closely with our Trails Recreation Specialist on the development of new trails and handled all unpaved trail maintenance within the division ranging from hiking trails to equestrian trails including, but not limited to, mowing, pruning, grading, and policing.
• Conducted facilities inspections, concrete/site work inspections, irrigation installation/inspections, fencing installation/inspections, boardwalk design/inspections, and playground inspections.
• Experience creating erosion control solutions, as well as storm drainage installation/inspection.

• Provided information and guidance for park visitors, answered questions and inquiries and suggested trails for hiking.
• Enforced Park Ordinances, rules and regulations through verbal direction and physical presence. Interacted pleasantly with visitors and promoted park rules, regulations and safety measures to educate and inform.
• Checked buildings and facilities in the parks and trails for security and vandalism; wrote reports.
• Lead and participated in hikes, canoe and kayak trips, bird and butterfly survey and other nature activities for County citizens.
• Contributed to the modification of existing site and management plans following site inspections, research and interpretation.
• Performed restoration work at PEAR Park, Ferndale Preserve, Pine Forest Park and Marsh Park and have extensive knowledge of Lake County's ecosystems, plant life and animal life.
• Conducted biological surveys,wetland delineation, prescribed fire, fire line installation and maintenance, Gopher tortoise burrow monitoring, vegetative monitoring and evaluation.
• Trail development and maintenance (non-paved). Worked with hand crews (chainsaw, pole saw, and herbicide) on vegetation treatments.
• Experienced in operating various types of equipment including tractors, excavators, bahia mowers, bermuda mowers, rollers, field paint sprayers and clay groomers.

• Landscape Maintenance, Irrigation troubleshooting and repair, athletic field preparation, playground equipment installation and repair, building maintenance, fertilizer and herbicide application,tree removal and pruning, and public relations.
• Involved with ranger program duties including trail maintenance, invasive plant removal, patrolling parks, and event support.
• Participated in parks and trails events at Lake Jem park, Twin Lakes park, Haynes Creek Preserve, Palatlakaha River Park, Pine Forest Park, and Ferndale Preserve, including canoe and kayak trips, nature hikes, and bird and butterfly surveys.
• Actively participated in the grand opening ceremony at North Lake Community Park as well as providing help and support to various sports organizations including men's and women's softball leagues, youth football and soccer leagues, and national AAU football tournaments.
• Aided in the preparation of FCT reports by providing field work, photo documentation, and insight.
• Contributed to modification of existing site and management plans following site inspections, research, and interpretation.
• Worked closely with the restoration contractor in land management activities at P.E.A.R. Park, Ferndale Preserve, Pine Forest Park, and Palatlakaha River Park and have extensive knowledge of Lake County's ecosystems, plant life, and animal life.
