Shane Wasserman

I am an enthusiastic, hard-working, and motivated college student looking for an internship job over the summer. I am a team player but I can also work independently. I am a quick, social learner and get along with others. My positive attitude and good energy bring the best out in the people around me. I am well driven and hold myself to a higher standard. I am passionate about pursuing a career in software engineering and enjoy coding. To further advance my understanding of software, I plan on completing certifications outside of school.

Visitor Analytics Program:

- Design and implemented a user interface to collect visitor data using C++. Made analyzing visitor information more efficient, simple, and automatic.

- Utilizing this program can save over 50% of a users time calculating analytics.

Mapping Algorithm:

- Worked in a 4 person team that I managed, organized, and collaborated with to design an advanced mapping algorithm using C++.

- Utilized Dijkstra's shortest path algorithm as well as graphing and hashing to determine the distance between cities and the shortest possible route between desired locations.

- This gave me a good understanding of working in groups on project and what it takes to be a confident leader for difficult or complicated tasks.

Parsing Graphical User Interface:

- Worked in a 3 person team that I lead to build a graphical user interface to parse lines of code to build a parse tree using Python.

- This further boosted my leadership ability during group projects as well as gave me a good opportunity to boost my knowledge in a new language from my peers.

- Learned a new language 30% quicker using peers, newly learned methods, and pervious language knowledge.

- Constructed a GUI to tokenize source code, check for proper language grammar, and display a textual and visual parse tree from acceptable lines of code.
