Dear Director of Studies,
Having worked as a Teacher of Academic English and Professional English since 2015 I understand the range of teaching and developmental needs for students and I have a proven track record of demonstrating the skills, knowledge, and behaviours needed to teach and administer to these needs.
Understanding and responding to centre and student requirements is very important for me. While working for the British Council in Prague I designed a twelve-week Academic Proficiency English course to fulfil a local need. The course is still being taught there.
It is important for me to use technology to enhance learning and motivate students. Using online support websites in the classroom has been very effective. I use the Edmodo website to offer my students greater support and provide them with activities and links for use outside the classroom. This results in the students feeling. Well supported and suitably stimulated.
My commitment to taking on new challenges was put to the test during the Covid pandemic. My response was to up-skill myself with regards to online teaching. I took several courses on the Future Learn platform which really allowed me to innovate and do things unavailable to me in the classroom that students found engaging and rewarding.
Having worked in several countries I have had students from a variety. of different cultural backgrounds and it has always been a key point of my teaching that every. student must feel that they are in a safe and supportive learning environment.
