Accomplishments

  • Participated in A Night to Shine, where individuals with special needs can experience a prom-like atmosphere with glam and excitement.
  • Accompanied students with disabilities to participate in local Special Olympics.
  • Collaborated with the local YMCA and Arts Center to offer scholarships for students interested in after-school arts and sports programs.
  • Grant Recipient- Middle South GA Conservation District Education Grant- Colquitt County
  • Grant Recipient-EMC Bright Ideas Teacher Grant- Colquitt County

I used the grants to purchase raised garden beds, soil, fertilizer, a small greenhouse, and all the necessary supplies to create a garden. This funding enabled me to teach students how to grow their food from seed to table, fostering self-sufficiency if needed. In our project, "From Seeds to the Table," students learned to plant, fertilize, water, weed, harvest, wash, and cook vegetables.
