  • Responsible for ensuring the medical and emotional needs of patients were met throughout the entire birthing process. Educated patients and their families on the birthing process and relevant medications and interventions.
  • Supported the phases of labor in normal to complicated pregnancies with fetal monitoring and pharmacologic/nonpharmacologic methods of pain relief such as controlled breathing, oral hydration, positioning, massage, and epidural placement support.
  • Managed labor induction with prostaglandin drug treatment, mechanical dilators, or IV oxytocin. Assessed patients for high-risk status and notified members of the team utilizing closed-loop communication.
  • Administered medications such as Methergine, Hemabate, TXA and Cytotec for uterine atony; antihypertensive medications such as Labetalol IV, and Hydralazine IV for preeclampsia; and tocolytic agents such as Terbutaline and Nifedipine for preterm labor. Comfortable with IV Magnesium Sulfate and IV Insulin Management.
