Provides independent, comprehensive, family-centered, culturally competent outpatient care for children through the neonatal period through 21 years of age. Care includes well exams and management of acute and chronic illnesses. Makes referrals to internal and external disciplines for further evaluation. Orders labs and other testing as needed. Maintains DEA, MCSR and prescribes medications as needed.

• 3 patients per hour with a mix of well visits, acute visits, follow ups

Provides primary care for patients from birth through college. Care includes well exams and management of acute illnesses. Makes referrals for further evaluation as needed. Orders labs and other testing as needed. Maintains DEA and prescribes medications as needed.

Triages patients. Performs simple procedures such as IV insertion, phlebotomy, urine drug screenings, breath alcohol screenings, pulmonary function testing and point of care testing. Assists providers with exams and testing (pelvic exams, eye and ear irrigations, I&D's and casting/splinting preparation). As the lead nurse my responsibilities also include ordering, organizing and maintaining sufficient inventory levels or clinical supplies, equipment and medications within the clinic. Immunization coordination for the state funded vaccine program. Tracks and ensures lab compliance per CLIA and DHHS standards. Directs and manages all laboratory and clinical equipment maintenance and troubleshooting. Participates in all clinical inspections. Monitors and ensures lab and procedure training of all new employees. Reviews and approves all clinical forms, processes and procedures requested or drafted by staff members. Provides management support as needed to the practice manager. Monitors training of all new staff members.

Provides initial assessment and safe care to stabilize patients in a fast-pace level III Trauma Center and Accredited Chest Pain Center. Plans and provides patient care as per MD, DO, Physician Assistant, or Nurse Practitioner orders, established Protocols, and policies. Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting all aspects of patient care. Delegates appropriate tasks to unlicensed personnel and provides required supervision. Works closely with all interdisciplinary team members to facilitate and coordinate efficient, effective, and quality healthcare.

Care coordination for more complex patients. Advocates for patients within the school system. Maintains DEA and prescribes medications as needed.

• Cares for neonates with various diagnoses including infection, respiratory distress, neonatal abstinence syndrome and grower/feeders.
• Establishes collaborative relationships with parents and provides ongoing education in preparation for care at home.
• Serves as patient and family advocate. 
  

• Regularly assumed charge nurse role Coordinated and served as primary nurse of Synagis Clinic for high risk infants during RSV season.
• Trained in assisting Pediatric Intensivists with sedation and monitoring during and after procedures.
• Served on numerous unit-based and multidisciplinary committees initiated to improve care including defining the organization's standard of care for Neonatal Abstinence, the postpartum depression committee, family-centered rounding sub-committee and the pediatric unit practice council.
