I floated to all areas at a very busy outpatient surgical center. I worked in the operating room, endoscopy, Pre-op and PACU. I was able to strengthen my skills in PACU and endoscopy. Patient teaching and discharge.

Responsible for day-to-day operations, scheduling to maintain staffing ratios according to productivity and organization of patient flow. Collaborates with surgeons, anesthesia, and administration to provide an efficient schedule. Responsible for patient care activities and evaluation of the nursing processes practiced on the unit, serving as a clinical resource for staff. Identifies opportunities to standardize processes that lead to increased safety.
Transitioned to PACU and Pre-op. Floated in all three areas when needed.

Circulate surgical services such as: Podiatry, Plastics, General, Orthopedic Sports, Hands, G.I. with conscious sedation, pain cases with conscious sedation.

The RN's consented, prepped including injecting the surgical sites with local anesthetic and discharged all surgical patients. The RN's saw all follow ups and removed the patient's stitches and transcribed the follow up. I handled all patient prescriptions electronically.

I was responsible for managing, supervising, and assisting the operating room staff and other departments.

Supervisor of Surgical Services/SPD. In charge of daily operations, running surgery schedule daily, monitoring supplies needed for cases, tracking all tissue, order supplies through HSS, Kronos, and staff schedule.

Made staff monthly schedule for the unit. Basically was the unit's supervisor under Chief Nursing Officer.
