I began my career as an RN in 1999 on a medical surgical unit as a staff nurse at Trinity Mother Frances in Tyler, TX. I transitioned to the night shift charge nurse of the forty-nine bed unit. Two years later, I transferred to the ICU in the same facility where I worked for twelve years. I was full-time in the ICU for approximately ten years and PRN for 2 years. As a PRN nurse in the ICU, I often floated to the medical surgical and postpartum.
