I was assigned to 1 special needs child,Lanorah,My assignment was to assist the child/My Patient from her special needs bus each morning to the school cafateria,assisting,encouraging,and observing in breakfast meal intake.Then directing her to her assigned classroom,mostly encouraging her, letting her be independantly wheeling her wheelchair to the classroom,monitoring her,directing her to her classroom.Assisting her to put her ..belongings/backpack in her assigned cupboard.Getting her morning assignment and any special direction from her teacher then setting her up at her desk,which she was a slide board transfer,i was assigned to training her to eventually beable to independantly self transfer/slide board transfer.I assisted her in her academics,she had individual(one on one)session with different special education therapists/teachers and counselors that was my assigment/responsibilitie to assist her in attending and keeping her schedules.I was assigned to assisting the school nurse with catherizing/peri-care her 2 times in her school day.11a.m and 3p.m and always monitoring her bowel movements and giving peri-care as needed. My assignment was the same with her lunchtime meal assistance.I assisted her on recess taking her to wheelchair access areas,encouraging her to be independant as much as she can.I assisted her to her assigned bus-station at the end of her school-day/my shift.I was hired and assigned to her only,a Personal Para to Lanorah.She was born with spinal bifida and she was/is attending a regular elementary school and doing and adjusting and successing to the special plans put in place for her special case.I did assist in the classroom with the other children when Lanorah was in another class with her special education teacher.
