Work History

Senior Engineering Manager

Intel
04.2019 - Current
  • Successfully pivoted team with expertise in networking domain to security domain, and in less than a year delivered production quality microservices that sought to simplify delivering Intel confidential computing technologies (TDX, SGX), and Amber attestation (Intel Trust Authority) based security across the cloud to the edge for applications and infrastructure. These microservices are to be monetized by NEX’s Project Strata/edge security solutions

  • Edge Multi-Cluster Orchestrator (EMCO) is a Linux Foundation project that aims to simplify fleet management of heterogeneous clusters across distributed edges. Intel seeded the project and contributed 200K of code. I was the member of EMCO TSC. Reliance JIO, Aarna Networks and Equinix were early adopters of EMCO.

  • Open Network Automation Platform (ONAP) is a Linux Foundation project that orchestrates and automates network functions that enable Telco providers to rapidly automate new services. Added Intel Enhanced Platform Enablement (EPA) to facilitate intelligent placement of workloads on Intel hardware. Orange is already using ONAP in its production environment.

Engineering Manager

Intel
08.2016 - 03.2019
  • Led community engagements with key stakeholders like Redhat, Cisco, Verizon, and Ericsson among others to drive consensus on using DPDK acceleration in the Open Daylight project.

  • Went above and beyond original responsibilities by covering customer relationship with Rift.io, including program and product management to cover for extended absences at various points.

Open Source Software Engineer

Intel And IBM
09.2006 - 07.2016
  • Added Intel’s DPDK support to Linux Foundation’s Open Daylight (ODL) projects.
  • The primary author of fast packet processing Reference Architecture (RA) using OVS-DPDK. This RA uses IA optimizations and acceleration technologies to achieve almost line rate speed in inter-VM communication by bypassing the Linux networking stack.
  • Maintainer of Libvirt-CIM project.
  • Contributed 5K lines of code to the oVirt project. oVirt is a free open source virtualization solution for the entire enterprise.
  • 20+ years of software development experience.
  • 7 years working on enabling RHEL and SLES on x86-based IBM servers.
