In 2014, I was honored with the "Inspirational Woman" Award by Women in Management in Sri Lanka for my significant impact on society, especially in empowering women. Furthermore, my passion for writing has garnered numerous prizes and international recognition. The Tamil Progressive Writers and Artists Association in India named my book "Ummath" the year's best novel. "Ummath" is available in English from HarperCollins, and two more of my works are set to be published in English. To date, I have published nine books, spanning fiction, non-fiction, poetry, stories, and articles. I was honored with the IIE-Artist Protection Fund Fellowship (IIE-APF) and placed in residence with UNO’s Leonard and Shirley Goldstein Center for Human Rights (GCHR) and UNO’s Sam and Frances Fried Holocaust and Genocide Academy.
Throughout my career, I have immersed myself in both the literary and advocacy realms, striving to create impactful work that sheds light on pressing social issues. With a solid background in publishing and a drive for creativity, I have explored various genres, from novels and poetry to non-fiction, stories, and articles, with each piece reflecting my commitment to addressing human rights concerns.
