Acute Bariatric/ GI surgery floor

• Administer Medication, perform assessments, collect lab samples and support physicians and other collaborating inter professional disciplinarians at bedside during invasive and non-invasive procedures, exams and testing.
• Documentation of assessments, medications and interventions on CERNER as related to patient care.
• Place consults and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to assess, plan and manage treatments of patient's assigned.
• Deliver Patient care in a 1:6 patient ratio in an holistic manner, while educating them on post-op and implementing the plan of care.
• Escalate emergencies at bedside while ensuring compliance with infection control and unit and hospital safety guidelines

• Collected blood samples from over 10 clients to send to the lab for testing using assembled tourniquets, vacutainer, syringes and butterfly needles.
• Created and placed Lab orders for over 10 clients with critical information; Client's name, Date of Birth, Time of collection and Specifics of test requested.
• Resolved unusual test orders by contacting laboratory or NP in charge.
• Administration of IM antibiotic medication clients who come in for STI treatments.
• Protected Clients by following infection control, sharps disposal, and safe biohazardous waste product disposal.
