  • Served as the Deputy Commissioner for Administration providing day-to-day leadership for two major divisions within the Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD). OPWDD is comprised of a workforce of more than 20,000 employees and 1,100 work locations and community residences across every county. The Office for Workforce and Talent Management and the Office for Property Supports & Emergency Services report directly to the Deputy Commissioner to provide workforce stability and a comprehensive system of facility supports for residences for people living in State Operated locations throughout the State.
  • Provided innovative leadership in the areas of Talent Development and Training, Employee Relations and Human Resource Management; in addition to planning and tailoring facility supports through Physical Plant and Maintenance Services, Capital Construction Services, Safety and Security and Fire Safety Services, Emergency Management, Environmental Services, and Food Preparation Services as needed.

The Office employs nearly 2,000 professional staff that provide the necessary structure to direct over $12 billion dollars in annual benefits and services to families and individuals statewide. Many improvements were accomplished during this time, including the implementation of many new regulatory changes to reduce case backlogs, the increase of Child Support collections to over $1.3 billion annually – the highest level in New York State's history; the increase of participation in the Federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP); as well as improved the provision of emergency shelter services to the State’s homeless population.
