Staff nurse in busy postpartum unit. I care for high acuity postpartum Moms and their newborns. I float to transition and level II NICU frequently. I care for patients on magnesium drips, pre-eclamptic patients and patients in HELPP syndrome. I work with patients with a wide range of social issues including substance abuse, homelessness, mental health disorders, and domestic violence. I work closely with Social Services, CPS and Case Management. My position involves working closely with my patients on how to care for their infants and themselves after leaving the hospital. I am frequently the charge nurse and orient new nurses to the unit as well as teaching nursing students.

Head nurse in a private OB/GYN practice. Supervising MA's and LPNs. Duties included phone triage, training for lab compliance, assisting with gyn procedures, ordering supplies, and communicating with drug representatives. Liaison to laboratory supervisors for new testing, codes, billing and compliance with ACOG standards. Works with MD's, PA and ARNP's. Established at inception of practice back office procedures and protocols. Facilitated growth of new practice to currently about 14,000 patients.

Staff nurse in labor and delivery for level 1 hospital. Duties included LDRP, newborn transition, assessment and care. Gynecological post op patients care and discharge planning. Director of childbirth education department and instructor for prepared childirth classes, newborn care, breastfeeding and sibling classes. Responsible for pre-op preparation and outpatient surgical procedures. Scrubbed and circulated in the Or for c-sections.

I worked as an RN in a free standing birth center. I was the nurse in the office for prenatal visits and gyn visits. I assisted the midwife in the care of laboring women through delivery. I recovered the family for up to 12 hours post delivery until they went home. I assisted the Mom with breastfeeding and teaching her how to care for herself and her infant. I saw the families two days later in the office for a follow-up on Mom and baby which included weights, pku's, lochia, breastfeeding, postpartum and infant care.
