Vice President of the School Photography Club

School
09.2024 - Current

My best friend and I run a club at school, centering around photography. The goal of the club is to help expand students creativity and appreciation of our world through the use of photography. Our club just started and we have only completed a few meetings. However, our plans for the club include volunteering to take pictures at various school events such as school dances or sporting events, participating in various contests throughout the community and helping out at various art shows across the city.

Tutor

AVID Tutor
08.2024 - Current
  • I currently tutor freshmen students in the AVID program. The AVID program stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination.
  • Being able to tutor these freshmen who are mostly new to AVID means I can help these kids with all the study techniques, organization tips and guidance I have obtained from being apart of AVID for 6 years
  • I meet with them every Tuesday and Thursday in 5th period (I get out at 4th) and I help them with any questions they may have
  • . They mostly work in study groups these days so I go around and help them with homework.
  • I've been doing this for about 4 1/2 months now and it has been a great experience so far.
  • By collaborating with fellow tutors to come up with effective ways for addressing the diverse needs of the students, my communication and teamwork skills has greatly improved.
