Genesee County Water and Waste - Genesee County, MIJune 2019 to Present
I currently reside in, Michigan . I have obtained an F-3 water treatment license with 6+ years in this field. I worked for GLWA for 3 years starting in 2016 It is a 120+ MGD plant and I'm now working at a plant that provides 4 MGD to 20 MGD based on the season. My license was earned within 12 months after starting in this field back in 2016 in which I had no prior experience as an operator. I was intense when it came to studying. I accrued over 80 credit hours in college but decided to change my direction. I studied on my own to obtain my F-5, S-5 and D-5 from EGLE without any prior experience and passed all 3 tests on my first attempt. I'm continuing education in other aspects. One of my main passions at the moment is in the field of electrical instrumentation and controls technician I've been seeking knowledge in the field of process control and instrumentation over the past few years. I've obtained certificates in electronic technology, completed a 43 module certificate from ISA and an looking towards taking my test that I've been approved for by ISA as a CCST. In 2022. I'm familiar with all that is involved with the duties of EICTs and have been involved with interactions of their duties. I perform chemical and flow changes as needed by demand and am familiar with the control of turbidity. I provide bench testing on chlorine, pH, conductivity, alkalinity, hardness, phosphate, chloride, color, Sulfate, Aluminum, and dissolved oxygen testing as well as preparation of reagents along with laboratory control standards.. I. document all of these results on bench sheets and send out the laboratory analysis report. I calibrate all of these testing units; fluoride, turbidimeters, conductivity, and the pH meters. Other operator duties include: chemical batching, flow changes as well as chemical adjustments as needed, chemical tank agitating, preventative maintenance, training in lock out tag out, HAZWOPER, confined spaces, certified in crane and forklift operating. Ability to do filter backwashes, collecting grab samples and filing chain of custody documents I perform coliform testing including presence/absence and HPC. I'm familiar with SCADA, I gather data of equipment runtime hours. I have knowledge of the calculations of ppm's for the chemicals, verify the feed rate via drawdowns, then adjust the dosage according to the desired setpoints. All of this has been done primarily on midnight shifts that For the most part, I've worked over the past 6 years without supervision They are on call if needed.
