Essential Functions

As Executive Director, I am responsible for the effective management of the agency, operating within an approved budget on a sound financial basis. Planning, directing, implementing and achieving organizational goals associated with policies of the Board of Directors. Acting as a liaison to funders, and the community at large; I provided oversight of Board approved strategic and financial plans. I lead, managed, supervised and/or delegate all administrative aspects of UMADAOP, including operations, business planning, staff management, benefits programs, budget and finance activity, information technology, facility maintenance and general administrative services.

Workforce & Pipeline Development

  • Co-created CCHMC One-Stop Workshop - quarterly effort involving +400 attendees resulting in hospital hires; led marketing strategy driving program public awareness; partnered with CCHMC HR Talent acquisition team.
  • Managed and coordinated CCHMC Career Exploration Committee/CEC (committee of ~25 leaders at Director/SVP level). Led effort to create universal application for those seeking admission and access to hospital resource programs.
  • Managed and led team that successfully executed two annual CCHMC Career Day events. Created marketing materials exposing +300 Cincinnati public school juniors/seniors to careers in healthcare; 90% of students surveyed found effort useful and impactful.

Description: PreventionFIRST!, formerly the Coalition for a Drug-Free Greater Cincinnati, was founded in 1996 by now Senator Rob Portman, Ohio First Lady Emeritus Hope Taft, Rev. Dr. Damon Lynch, and Former P&G Chairman John Pepper as a comprehensive effort to address youth substance abuse.  The Coalition serves the population of the tri-state region where Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky converge.
