Professional Experience Projects

  • Spearheaded Training and Technical Support for Type Test HPCC 1.0 (450/300kW) and HPCC 2.1 (600kW) (2019 - 2020), First units localized in the United States from Germany, (HPCC - High Power Charger Converter used for eBus charging stations) This design is converted from IEC standards to UL standards., Trained Test Technicians to develop the know-how and skills to test and troubleshoot: HPCC 1.0 Master (300kW) and Slave (150kW) configuration system, HPCC 1.0 Master (300kW) only configuration system, HPCC 2.1, 600kW configuration system., Provided technical support in Portland, Oregon, for system full load Test: Identified and solved the following problems: First Unit; start-up sequence, pre-charge contactor was not closing. Second Unit; regulation of the DC charging current, the AC component amplitude exceeded allowable limits.
  • Design of Motor Test-stand including Planning, Budget Management and Developing Test Technicians' Competencies (2019), Within a six months timeframe before the start of production, I had to develop Test Technicians' competency, and design and implement a solution for testing motor overhaul repairs and new manufactured motors., Completed the project on schedule with budgetary savings of 20%; original budget allocation was $50K., Collaborated with colleagues in Germany on the technical specifications and requirements., Managed multiple cross-functional teams (Purchasing, Logistics, Manufacturing, Safety) to source, purchase materials and assemble the system., The Test-stand includes integrating the following sub-systems: Siemens S7 1200 PLC series, SINAMICS G120 Drive, LabVIEW provides high level control and coordination of the testing activities and data collection., Developed Test Technicians with the following competencies: No Load Test, Lock Rotor Test, Vibration Test.
  • Design Automated Testing for Traction Inverter Controllers, Reducing Testing Time by 70% (2017), Design and retrofit Test Station to full Automated Testing of Traction Inverter Controllers, integrating Siemens S7 1200 PLC, Comfort TP1500 HMI and LabVIEW as the main platform that orchestrate the automatization activities., Test Preparation: Loading Test Software/Parameters, Reset and Initialize Device Under Test. Check/Clear all system faults and verify system is ready for testing., I/O Checks: Digital and Analog I/O checks., Function Checks: Pre-Charge and Discharge sequence, Software and Hardware Chopper operation., Heat-Run: Heat-run setup and monitoring., Post Test: Erase Test Software and generate Test Report.
