Certifying airworthiness as a Certified Inspector on MQ-9 Predator B block 1 aircraft while performing maintenance and repair of airframe, power plants, and aircraft systems as a Shift Lead Mechanic with GA-SI in support of DHS Air & Marine UAS operations NASOC.
Performed highly technical complex and comprehensive repairs and preventive maintenance on the MQ-9 Predator B type aircraft less 12,500 pounds certificated takeoff weight either at local DHS repair facility or deployed.
As a Lead Mechanic I perform several roles such as leading and managing an experienced team of MQ-9 experts on all facets of maintenance on the MQ-9B UAS.
Served as Site Lead Field Engineer when the Site Lead was deployed while performing duties as a Lead Mechanic and establishing strong professional relationships with both GA-SI and Air & Marine personnel.
Coordinated with Air & Marine AMOs to schedule maintenance and personnel, addressing issues to ensure mission readiness.
Executed scheduled inspections (200, 400, 800, 2000 hour) and condition checks on MQ-9 Predator B, following GA-SI standards for fault isolation, wire diagrams, and blueprints while managing repairs on airframe components, engine, propeller, and hydraulic systems to maintain airworthiness.
Remove and replace various servos such as main gear retract servos, brake servo’s, flight control servo’s, nose landing gear retract servo’s, Engine power and stop and feather servo’s, nose landing gear steering servo, perform precise rigging and operational checks for all servo’s by establishing either a direct link or digital line of sight (DLOS) with Ground Control Station (GCS).
Remove and install servo drivers as needed, qualified to perform Digital Electronic Engine Control (DEEC) Engine runs for operational checks or troubleshooting or diagnosing issues.
Adept at comprehensive and precise rigging adjustments for engine power and stop and feather control cables.
Assisted avionic technicians with VaDER and SeaVue systems, including removal, installation, and troubleshooting of components such as Multi-Spectral Targeting Sensor (MTS), batteries, and pylon systems to support operational effectiveness.
Diagnosed complex aircraft systems and subsystems using specialized equipment, including air data boxes and digital multimeters.
Oversee daily aircraft operations by participating in launch and recovery, servicing pneumatic accumulators, removal and installation of parts, repairs, modification, adjustment, alignments, torques checks and the follow-on maintenance such as functional checks with powered and unpowered ground equipment.
