After years of caregiving for my mother, as well as several close friends, including my late co-author, I decided to take our finest collaboration, the Share The Care, to a much wider audience.
• I established the non-profit (501c3) then updated and added 50 pages of new information into the second edition of Share The Care. The Library Journal called it "One of the Best Consumer Health books of 2004."
• Developed and refined over time the organization's mission and vision statements
• Identified the need for new way to reach caregivers so I established an accredited curriculum and started training
nurses, social workers and others in the caregiving arena
about the model so they could introduce it to their patients and families
