Shelby Murphey

A background in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu uniquely positioned me to gain extensive international travel experience by competing and teaching BJJ around the world. I am pursuing a degree in economics to integrate the leadership skills, diverse cultural experience, and high-performance under pressure I’ve acquired with foundational knowledge of business operations and financial systems. As one of the minority members of female black belt jiu jitsu practitioners (estimated under 5%) I have had the privilege to introduce my jiu jitsu methodology around the world and develop a personal taste for innovation to platform my perspective on the sport. My goal is to apply the skills I’ve used to develop a personal curated worldview to the academic and professional world.
