I began my career with this facility as a Registered nurse in the Emergency Department.
In 2000, I was promoted to the ED Manager position. I managed approximately 25 employees. I was responsible for hiring employees and managed their performance during their employment. I worked collaboratively with the physicians to establish standard of care plans and ensured those were followed through with the care of the patients. I was responsible for tracking statistics and developing budgets for the department. With this position, I was also the employee health nurse and the workers compensation nurse. I worked collaboratively with Human Resource Department and the Employee health physician to ensure employees were screened properly for hiring and annual health requirements were completed. I maintained records for all work related injuries and assisted employees from the time of injury through complete release to return to work.
In 2012, I was promoted to Nursing Director. I was responsible for managing and leading all nursing personnel operations. I coordinated with medical staff and other department to ensure hospital efficiency. I worked collaboratively with the CFO and nursing department managers to develop budgets and maintained records of all expenses. I worked closely with Risk Management to ensure quality of care was maintained, investigated all care issues, and developed and followed through with plan of action reports to ensure care standards were met.
