I have taught a variety of grade levels in my career, but have been in first grade for the last sixteen. I have collaborated within my grade level in my in my building and across the ten elementary schools in the district. I have represented my building at the district level, being part of an elementary-based decision making committee for five years. I completed training in a coaching for leadership monthly profressional development opportunity that I was selected to take part in by my building principal. I have acted as principal in charge when my administrator is out of the building. As a member of our PBIS Tier One committee, I also spearhead the acknowledgments and celebrations subcommittee, planning monthly and quarterly school-wide events. In addition to these academic endeavors, I have been the student council advisor for the past twelve years, working to develop leadership skills in our young students, fundraising for our school, and developing and implementing unique and engaging events that quickly become traditions in our building. I am a hard-working, energetic, individual that while promoting academics also works to help bring out the joy in learning while building a sense of community in my classroom and my school.
