Accomplishments

  • Worked with our unit Psychologists to create a multidisciplinary program for our staff members to have bi-weekly psychological debriefings so that they have a safe and supportive environment to share and support each other.
  • Leader for two of the NICU's largest committees Bereavement and Discharge Specialist.
  • Helped create our bereavement team from the ground up. Our NICU has between 70-100 deaths per year. This team creates memories for the families who have lost their precious child.
  • I helped create the Discharge Specialist position for our NICU. It is a team of 5 RN's that follow the patients closely throughout their hospital stay and help coordinate every aspect of their discharge, including teaching and training parents to care for their medically complex infant.
  • Managed all of our supplements RN's (26) including scheduling and verifying that each of them completed their mandatory compliance.
