Accomplishments

    I enjoy volunteering to help others.

  • For over a decade, I have consistently volunteered to knit preemie baby caps for the NICU babies in our local hospital.
  • Additionally, I have been honored to be able to volunteer in a local soup kitchen over interterm this past year.
  • I have also been highly privileged to work in both second-grade children's Sunday school and VBS settings for the past two summers.

  • Throughout my college career, I have taken multiple classes that further enhance my ability to excel as a 1st-6th grade teacher. These include methods teaching classes for all subjects including arithmetic, English, and penmanship. I have also taken numerous other courses that have provided practical knowledge. Some of these include:

  • ED 219-Teaching the Reluctant Learner is an invaluable class that has provided me with the knowledge of how to motivate unsuccessful students towards a successful year;
  • ED 301-Tests and Measurements equipped me with the confidence and skills necessary to effectively measure student success in my classroom and even prepare my own quizzes and tests, if necessary.
  • ED 322-Educational Psychology provided me with knowledge of the strengths and flaws of various teaching theories
  • ED 306-Computer Applications in Education was a hands-on course that provided me with highly practical technical knowledge to enhance lessons and classroom review.
  • ED 419-Teaching Internship Orientation was a practical class that allowed me to participate in back-to-school preparations and observe the first couple of weeks of school as procedures and policies were implemented and explained to students.
  • The courses I have been blessed to take have fully equipped me to successfully serve in my own classroom.

Additional Information

I enjoy playing the piano, knitting, memorizing Scripture, reading, helping others, and, of course-teaching! I anticipate creating a classroom environment that children delight in coming to every day and where learning can thrive. I am so excited for the opportunity to teach this fall and am looking forward to promoting a classroom of excellent academics and high character!
