• Greeted customers and provided outstanding customer service. Helping them find what they were looking for, and often suggesting things based on their search

• Often when I wasn't doing something in furniture I would often be merchandising product. Recovering endcaps, adjusting shelves, making everything more accessible and visually appealing

I also was apart of the Inventory team for the Big Lots stores in my district. I was always able to drive to other stores in the district, even farther ones. And I got very good at counting the product without disturbing it. And also fixing things as I went along. Personally, it was my favorite part of the job

• Assisted with issues at the register that required a manager. Including returns, price adjustments, mislabels, and any other number of tasks to keep the cashiers efficient
• Mentored associates, helping less experienced people understand more things about the job and/or certain tasks they undertake during the day-to-day
• Recovered the Shelves more thoroughly. Even resetting whole aisles in preparation for inventories and whenever I got the time. Also thoroughly checked products to find any defects. Such as broken/damaged parts or packaging. And specifically out of date products
• Worked significantly more in the furniture department. Often acting as a right hand man to the furniture lead at the time
• Received more experience merchandising products during this time since I had more freedom than when I was an associate
