• Provide direct quality care to clinically manage psychiatric patients across life span by performing history and physical and psychiatric interview, diagnosing, treating, and managing acute and chronic serious and persistent mental illness, ordering appropriate testing and consults, prescribing medications and treatments, and teaching patient and families health promotion and disease prevention.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care rendered based on age-specific components including unique characteristics of the individual such as age and stage of development, cognition, race, state of health, previous experiences, and cultural beliefs and values.
