Summary

As a veteran teacher, I strive to create a positive, affirming, and encouraging environment for any student that I teach whether in a classroom, camp, or tutoring session.

I have taught elementary school students for 31 years, specializing in gifted education. I currently teach Advanced Content Math to 3rd through 5th grade students and math enrichment to 1st and 2nd graders. I created the math curriculum for gifted students 20 years ago, and I led staff development classes at schools who wanted to use a similar model. I've taught summer drama classes to gifted students. I currently lead an online mentoring group for gifted teachers. I've organized a book club and STEM club for gifted and talented students at my school. I served as a teacher and assistant coordinator for Camp Invention. My students won awards at the Perennial Math contest for three consecutive years. For the past three years, I've taught enrichment classes for PreK to 5th grade students in the Student Enrichment and Acceleration summer school program at GCPS. Accolades include two time finalist for Teacher of the Year, exemplary performance reviews, selection for the school leadership team, and-most importantly to me-a 100% positive rating from my students.
