- Learning and teaching my endangered heritage language Uchinaaguchi to other Okinawans in the diaspora.
- About three to four people attend each week.
- Lessons are 90 minutes, once a week over Zoom.

- Facilitated students' development of cross-cultural skills by having them participate in a language exchange project called The International Virtual Exchange.
- Self-designed a course called “Communicative English” in which students discussed various global issues such as the environment, news, culture, and education. The textbook I selected was adopted by three other teachers.
- Improved students' vocabulary repertoire and reading fluency through an extensive reading program using M-Reader.
- Quickly adapted to teaching remotely through Zoom.
- Maintained class pages on Moodle and Microsoft Teams where all course information was available and all assignments were to be submitted.
- Was involved in the selection process of a textbook series called “Keynote,” which promotes critical thinking, academic vocabulary acquisition, and presentation skills.
