With a proven track record at Anderson Public Library, I excel in classroom management and innovative teaching methods, significantly enhancing learning experiences. My expertise in effective communication and community outreach has consistently fostered positive environments and strong relationships.
During my time at KCTCS as a GED Instructor and ESL adult instructor, I helped prepare adult students to take the GED test and the ESL students to prepare for CASA test and teach ESL English and Math.
As the Youth and Family Services Manager, I planned summer reading. Summer reading lasted a solid four weeks during the summer, and I hired many performers to entertain our infants and toddlers, preschoolers, K-5th grade classes, and young adult classes (9th-12th grades). I used many high school students to volunteer for the younger classes. This was a wonderful compliment for both groups. Some examples: I had a DJ for teens to have a dance inside the Anderson Public Library (APL), and we had activities every day after school for the teens. Whether we watched movies, artwork, theatrical workshops, or had a murder mystery night as well.
For the K-5th grade, we had planned story time on Monday evening, and the attendance ran about 30 to 60 people on a given Monday. One unique idea I came up with was to have grandparents come with the students to play the Bowling Wii game. This was a huge success. I also had a state policeman teaching the kids about stranger danger for the families.
Enfants and toddlers we met for half an hour; we had songs on the TV, and the parents and children loved dancing to the songs. I read a story and had an activity that went along with the books.
In preschool class, I did about the same thing, but I expanded the lesson plan to fulfill the hour. We did science projects; I had Anderson County High School do poems and plays for this age group. All of my classes were to build code capacity. I invited people from the community to read to our children. We had SECC come to listen to a story from the former governor's wife, Jane Beshear.
I went to every preschool class once a month in Anderson County Schools, and all the daycares.
I am experienced in all ages of children and my ultimate goal is to raise children for Jesus. There is no higher gift than to raise children to believe in Jesus Christ and to teach them about going to heaven to see HIM!
I filled Coke machines.
I counted the money.
I ran the cash register.
I filled the nursing home with assigned prescription trays and delivered the nursing home trays.
I did the inventory each night and ordered medicine.
I delivered prescriptions to elderly customers who could not get out.
I filled prescriptions and talked to doctors on the telephone.
I helped make compound prescriptions, mixing various ointments according to the prescriptions.
I talked extensively with customers. I was raised that the customer is always right.
I have excellent communication skills, typing skills, some spreadsheet skills, and computer skills. As I became a young adult, my dad told me I needed a sign on the building with excellent communication.
Ms. Pickle award through Anderson Public Library. I was nominated by a board members wife. In 2019. Out of 120 counties in Kentucky. I won!
