Work History

Instructor

KCTCS Lawrenceburg Campus
08.2023 - 02.2025

During my time at KCTCS as a GED Instructor and ESL adult instructor, I helped prepare adult students to take the GED test and the ESL students to prepare for CASA test and teach ESL English and Math.

Youth Director

Tyrone Church
02.2013 - 04.2024

At Tyrone my duties were voluntarily. I worked with a group of middle school students until they graduated high school. After this group graduated high school, the other students were much younger and already had an established teacher.

My duties were every Wednesday I ate with the students and listen while they talked. I built excellent communication skills with these students.

We had many lesson plans, from Ministry for Youth, another church gave me their materials and any left over materials at church I had access to.

Towards the end I had two students and one always wanted to learn something new. This student wanted to dive into the prophetess Deborah and Jael. This was an extra ordianary lesson that lasted many months.

We bought an Ark of Covenant that we had to assemble and we did a long lesson on the importance of the holiness of the Ark of the Covenant.

I also, had this same group of students as preschoolers at Tyrone, I had a remarkable journey with them.

Youth and Family Services Manager

Anderson Public Library
08.2007 - 10.2019

As the Youth and Family Services Manager, I planned summer reading. Summer reading lasted a solid four weeks during the summer, and I hired many performers to entertain our infants and toddlers, preschoolers, K-5th grade classes, and young adult classes (9th-12th grades). I used many high school students to volunteer for the younger classes. This was a wonderful compliment for both groups. Some examples: I had a DJ for teens to have a dance inside the Anderson Public Library (APL), and we had activities every day after school for the teens. Whether we watched movies, artwork, theatrical workshops, or had a murder mystery night as well.

For the K-5th grade, we had planned story time on Monday evening, and the attendance ran about 30 to 60 people on a given Monday. One unique idea I came up with was to have grandparents come with the students to play the Bowling Wii game. This was a huge success. I also had a state policeman teaching the kids about stranger danger for the families.

Enfants and toddlers we met for half an hour; we had songs on the TV, and the parents and children loved dancing to the songs. I read a story and had an activity that went along with the books.

In preschool class, I did about the same thing, but I expanded the lesson plan to fulfill the hour. We did science projects; I had Anderson County High School do poems and plays for this age group. All of my classes were to build code capacity. I invited people from the community to read to our children. We had SECC come to listen to a story from the former governor's wife, Jane Beshear.

I went to every preschool class once a month in Anderson County Schools, and all the daycares.

I am experienced in all ages of children and my ultimate goal is to raise children for Jesus. There is no higher gift than to raise children to believe in Jesus Christ and to teach them about going to heaven to see HIM!
