Travel Contract CNA, MST, CPI Tech duties included patient triage of vital signs, patient weights, performing EKGs, and assisting the RN with assessing patients and the reason for visiting the Emergency Room. Also responsible for cleaning dirty ER rooms, and making them available for the next patient. Tech duties consisted of splinting broken bones for comfort prior to surgery, placing ankle boots, velcro wrist guards, measuring patients for crutches, cleaning out minor wounds, bandaging minor wounds, stocking ER exam rooms, assisting patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed, and assisting medical doctors and registered nurses with procedures and codes as needed. Bladder scans, POCT glucose testing, IV removal, Foley catheter removal, cut-off rings, earwax removal, procedure tray setup, etc. These were some of my duties.
CPI duties included CCI TV monitoring of mental health, crisis, and suicide watch patients. I was a liaison between the mental health patient, RN, MD, social worker, and ERIT counselor (Valley Medical Center Mental Health Intervention Team). Restraints, both soft and hard, were part of my duties, as well as monitoring patients for mental health and physical health needs.
Travel contract CNA duties for this 390-bed Level III trauma hospital included patient care for the critical care unit, progressive care unit, medical rehab, as well as emergency room patients. I was responsible for the usual activities of daily living, combined with the regularly added mental health patient-sitter duties. I was responsible for pre-op, as well as post-op patients, both before and after surgery, vital signs, CHG baths, ambulation of patients, etc. I was a mental health patient sitter quite often in various units of the hospital, as well as in the ER. I had patients in soft restraints and hard restraints some nights, and others were independent in the room while I sat in the doorway and charted their behavior.
Travel Contract CNA duties for this 473 bed Level 1 Trauma hospital to include both isolation and non-isolation Medical/Surgical Units, Emergency Room, Telemetry, ICU, CVICU, Neuro/Spine, Rehab, Mother/Baby as well as Patient Sitter duties. Responsible for patient care duties such as vital signs, hydration, hygiene, delivering specimens to the lab, patient transport within the hospital, suicide watch monitoring, etc.
Travel LTC/SNF contract CNA duties to include all ADL's of residents during night shift of 6p-6a. Also provided relief to the attached Memory Care Unit of approximately 30 residents with various forms of dementia as well as approximately patients on the Rehab Unit.
Travel Contract CNA duties to include all ADL's for approximately 38 residents of this Sanford Health senior living/skilled nursing facility. Day shift requirements included feeding, bathing, dressing, toileting, hygiene, assisting with activities, monitoring patients for a change in condition and reporting to the nurse on duty, Some night shifts were assigned which consisted of putting residents to bed as well as changing and turning every two hours. Charting via Point Click Care was completed on every resident.
Travel/Crisis Contract CNA duties to include all units of a 318 bed short-term acute care hospital. Worked ER as well in this Level 4 Trauma Center Hospital. Night shift duties included monitoring patient vital signs, changes in patients physical, emotional and symptomatic condition and reporting to the appropriate nurse assigned to the patient. Provided hygiene assistance, changing and turning every two hours as needed, one-to-one sitter duties as assigned for medical or suicidal reasons and feeding/hydration of patients as necessary.
