Sheyla Farfan

I am a first-generation college undergraduate student majoring in public health with a minor in therapeutic recreation. I currently work in academic student services, helping students with our Chemistry I course. I also am part of other organizations at Kean such as Student Government, Nu Theta Chi, which is a Greek organization, and Public Health Club, which is a new club that other students and I are starting up. I am very determined to work in the health field specifically health administration but I would also like to explore some hands-on activities. One of my specific goals is to find a way to help undocumented individuals get the health care they need, this has been something that has affected my family and I want to work with others to find a solution.

Details: This event was for a Gala event for which I was catering. I volunteered to help out and my organization catered for more than 100 individuals. We also assisted in cleaning up afterward and organizing the venue.

Details: During this event, students from Kean were able to go to the Community Food Bank of NJ. By the end of the day, we were able to make a little bit over 400 boxes of food for those in need.
