Licensed Senior Psychiatric Technician with extensive experience in psychiatric medication services, patient care coordination, and mental health support. • Works closely with the assigned Children and Youth Services (CYS) psychiatrist, the Correctional Health Services (CHS) and the CYS Mental Health team to ensure that youth receive appropriate psychiatric medication services.
• Participates as a member of a treatment team in developing and implementing individual and group treatment programs for clients.
• Monitoring the patient’s progress throughout the treatment
• Apply routine psychiatric nursing care to mentally ill or emotionally disturbed patients
• Helping mentally or emotionally impaired patients; taking histories and vital signs
• Put patient treatment strategies from psychiatrists and mental health professionals into effect
• Noting any differences in the patient’s mental and physical health
• Noting any reactions to medications prescribed to the patient
• Participates in meetings with Correctional Health Nurses in order to facilitate more team work.
• Provides professional general and psychiatric care to clients; monitors clients’ activities; assists clients to follow prescribed treatment plans.
• Observes clients physical conditions and behavior; evaluates clients’ progress; reports significant changes to professional staff; records clinical notes on clients.

• Ensuring client/guardian receive medication education, side effects, and related possible complications.

• Works closely with the BHS team and client’s guardians/social workers/probation officers/group homes in preparing for clients discharge, processing release medications, and follow up appointments when the detained clients leave JJC.
• Reviewing clients’ charts to ensure that the necessary documents such as JV220, Informed consents, treatment consents, and Releases of Information forms are up to date.
• Assists in the training of new Psychiatric Technicians.
• Assists manager in writing detailed procedures for Psychiatric Technicians stationed at JJC.
