Through working with children of all ages and interests, I have learned how to be flexible and creative, thus creating a positive atmosphere for the children whether it be in a camp or school setting. In addition, I have found that different skills are called for according to the size and age of the children. Girls, boys, one on one, one on many, primary school students, middle school students, all have specific needs which need to be met if they will enjoy and learn from their experience in whatever arena it is. Therefore, my work in summer camp, and supervision of youth groups, enabled me to work with children in a vacation or recreation time. Nannying for long or short times, was very different as their needs incorporated those of a student. As a currently employed nanny and a second job working in a company involved in therapy, I have learned to be more than competent and realize the importance for reliability, strong organizational abilities, and the knowledge how to engage with people at work.
