The Modesto City School District hired our non profit, Project Success Academy, to assist in closing the communication gap between teachers, parents, and kids amid the wave of Bay Area families relocating to the Central Valley. My sister and I were the answer to the many problems that beset the educational system at the time, supporting the instructors and the executive and administrative personnel. All of the high schools provided us with "in-kind" services to run an after-school program in the computer labs where kids could interact with one another and do their schoolwork in a secure and productive environment. In order to prepare the kids for college, were in charge of organizing youth fundraisers throughout the school districts, encouraging the students to take part in educational activities both during and after school hours, and ensuring that they graduated on time. More "at risk" students graduated and were enrolled in out-of-state four-year institutions as a result of our efforts. We received recognition for our involvement in the community and our consistent assistance to the kids throughout the years.
